The Selfish Bear is the twelfth episode of the first season of the animated series, Toy Toons.
Plot[]
The bear has stocked up his warehouse with supplies for the winter, but he has one huge problem: the rats! Day after day, these pesky rodents steal from his store of provisions. Desperate, the bear calls for the help of the squirrel, who in turn, consults the cat for advice. The cat, however, ultimately refuses to aid the bear because he too must stock up supplies for the winter. The bear doesn’t want to give in however, and so he then proposes that the cat spend the winter in his warehouse while he procures all the food they need for the winter.
Time passes and meanwhile, the cat keeps the rats at bay back in the warehouse, however the bear, who often goes to fish at the lake, feels he has had enough to eat while the cat stays behind basking in the warmth of the warehouse. Then, without regard for their pact, the bear decides to send the cat away, sure he can do without him. Without the presence of the cat, the rats then resume their plunder of the bear’s supplies. Realizing his mistake, the bear asks the cat to forgive him for his inexcusable behavior.
