Escape from Maracaibo is the fifth episode of the animated series, The Black Corsair.

Plot[]

Having detained also the Count of Lerna, the Black Corsair and his friends are barricaded inside the notary's house and as they get ready for a desperate defence they look for a way out. The Spaniards have surrounded the house and by this time they know they are inside. It is only the pirates' threat of blowing up a small cask of dynamite that has prevented the Spaniards from attacking the house.

Fortunately, Moko has in the meantime opened a way out on the roof and they manage to get away undisturbed also thanks to the unexpected help of the Count of Lerna, who is then freed together with his friends. While they make their way in the forest, they are joined by Leila and her jaguar. The girls tells them that the area is not safe, that they had better get into the lifeboat that she has hidden nearby and in which she has already loaded the body of the Red Corsair and in exchange for her help she only asks them to take her along.
